Change the stroke style for a single line in a hexagon
I've created a hexagon using the shape tool, and would like to change the stroke style of a single side. I'm grouping hexagons together, and would like the outer edges to be a thin line with the inner lines having a thicker stroke style. Also, I'm trying to figure out how to delete single sides of a hexagon once they have been created so I don't have overlap. Anything I try to do applies to the entire hexagon. I appreciate any help that is offered.

Hi.
To delete one (or more sides of a hexagon (or any shape));
1. Select hexagon object.
2. Go to node editing mode F2.
3. Select a node.
4. Perform - Break Path at selected node.
5. Repeat 3 & 4 for adjacent node.
6. Perform Path - break apart SHIFT CTRL K
7. Enter object mode F1
8. Select the segment you want to remove and delete Del
To get the different sides of a line to be different thicknesses set the stroke width to where you want the inner and outer line to be and perform a stroke to path - then break apart and select one of the new paths and change strokewidth.
No need to remove segments of a hexagon to hide overlapping parts, just set the fill to white (if you use a white background) and change the Z-order (PAGE-UPor PAGE-DOWN)
Good Luck

The hexagon object may need to first be converted to a path (Shift+Ctrl+C).
It may also be helpful to use the Axonometric grid (document properties, grids tab).

Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Thank you both so much for the reply. Ragstian, you have saved my sanity! Tylerdurden, thanks for the tip. That will help me with lining them up.
