Hi!
I'm preparing to give some Inkscape lessons to my students (12-14 years old).
I want to give them some very schematic and simple examples of drawings made using only 3 or 4 simple shapes and applying to them one or two of the different boolean operations.
Something like this
to this
If you are bored and want to share any idea, it would be great!
Thanks!

Hi procastino,
An idea for girls who may be interested in scrapbooking -- little picture frames. I guess it's obvious which tools I used
The snowman and beach ball may be outside your parameters for learning skills, but a lot can be done just with the star tool.
PS - Your images aren't showing up for me, I just see the red x. I think it's because there's a redirect in the URL?? Or maybe it's because of the https, I'm not sure?
Edit
The wrench image (I Iooked up the properties) you show gives me the idea of a slingshot, for boys, maybe? And you could probably construct some simple animal forms using the Shapes tools. Or I could imagine a simplified robot or spaceship. At that age, I suspect they would respond more enthusiastically to cool social images. So I could only suggest doing a bit of research on that (because I'm way out of the loop as far as pre-teens).
Edit 2
A snowflake? Or just abstract collage of shapes and objects made with the path operations. Or a stained glass window?

Re: Ideas for very simple drawings.
Sorry for answering so late!
I like your idea about the image frames a lot! I will try also to draw some easy robot or spaceship, but i don't see the slingshot and the stained glass very well...
Thanks!
