Filled Rectangle is Not Exporting to DXF as Filled

Postby ChasW » Mon Feb 24, 2014 5:15 pm

Hello,

This is my first post here.

I am looking for a method to get a filled rectangle to export as DXF and then into another app as a DXF so it can then manage a g-code export for the object.
When I export as DXF with Inkscape .48, other apps such as F-Engrave and DXF2GCODE load the object as a rectangular border, but not as a filled object.
I am hoping Inkscape can do this. I am finding that I like the app for its appearance and apparent intuitiveness, but I am not sure what I could be doing wrong.

Ultimately what I need is to cut rectangular shaped recesses using a CNC machine controller, so I need g-code for a "filled rectangle."

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi.

What you got is right.
You have to 'tell" the software (DXF2Gcode) where you want the tool to go.
Have a look at this; http://www.grzsoftware.com/blog/how-to/dxf-to-g-code/.

Good Luck
