svg font editor

Postby thekuz » Sat Aug 17, 2019 9:23 am

hello,
I am new to forums and trying to search what I need is overwhelming and I can't seem to find what I need, so here I am posting a new forum. If the question and answer exists already please lead me to the string.

I am working in Text -> SVG font editor

I have created my new letter and have gone through the appropriate steps to add it to the glyph list:

selected design (letter)
clicked on glyph 1 - a
Clicked "get curves from selection"

now either of these things are the result:
(Yes, in preview text text I have "abcde")

>Nothing in preview
>The preview appears but it is teeeny weeny (basically a dot smaller than a period)
>The preview appears but the beziers are filled (even though I have no fill selected and stroke as flat color.
>sometimes the preview appears flipped vertically with the beziers filled.

How do I make the stroke only appear (no fill) and the preview appear larger than a spec of dust?

I hope this is clear...

thanks!

0. Probably the same as 2.
1. Fonts don't have a stroke, at least these don't. They require a fill to work properly. Use the new Hershey fonts if you need a stroke font.
2. Make the texts larger, e.g. use the corresponding template.
3. Make sure that your layer isn't flipped (e.g. from an imported pdf) - create a new one that you will work on.
Something doesn't work? - Keeping an eye on the status bar can save you a lot of time!
