Is there a way to copy images from Inkscape to GIMP using something as simple as CTRL+C/CTRL+V?
Currently when I do that something does copy into GIMP but doesn't display anything. Could this be a bug in either GIMP or Inkscape?
(btw, I'm using Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 if that helps)

Re: Copying images from Inkcape to GIMP
Hi hellocatfood,
I just had some good luck posting a problem I was having rendering an SVG in GIMP, in the GimpTalk forums (although beware, many there are quite young....well, maybe you're young, for all I know....
) Anyway, they actually have a forum for Open Source Vector program issues.
I don't know about Copy and Paste. The Render SVG dialog (in GIMP) doesn't handle Blur very well. Otherwise, it works well. And there's always Export Bitmap from Inkscape, and open the PNG in GIMP? Probably you already that. But maybe someone at GimpTalk can help?
Sorry, I wish I could be more help.

About blur amongst other things (gaussian blur is an svg filter effect) I posted a wish list item in Inkscape Launchpad area about being able to copy a rasterized image of the filter effect to the clipboard before pasting it in any other program.
However on Linux you can already make a bitmap copy of your objects inside Inkscape and copy-paste it to Gimp.

Ah yes, I forgot about that. I may have to use that solution until the other comes into place
