Hello everyone. I'm a CAD designer and I do a lot of side work, and because of this I have my own DBA. I have been using Inkscape now for about a month and I love it. Very powerful program I must say.

Anyways, I would love to get some feedback as well as "show off" a bit, even though I wouldn't consider this anywhere near the caliber of some folks on this forum. Link to PDF for high-res version. Thanks everyone, hope to stay awhile, learn some tips, and give back when I can.

As an amateur logo critic, I'd suggest combining the logo from 1 with the name from 3 but set the spacing of the tagline more like 2.

If you will forgive my course hand, here is a rejigger showing a unit box based off the lowercase text height and the spacing I'd suggest, including the recommended whitespace:

I agree with RobA, except I like the green color better, for the logo. Just because that blue is so commonly used. Except I'd probably use a slightly darker green. Or actually maybe a darker blue would work?
(Sorry, hard to vote in this case.)

I like logo #1. Would like to see a darker blue or at least on the outer border of the outer stroke, just to see if it makes it pop or not. I'm not a green person, however, this green reminds me immediately of Martha Stewart's branding, so I probably wouldn't use that color.

I`m also with RobA`s suggestions.

There are two things which I would point out. Using three different fonts in logo could be too much and it is usually not advisable. The other one is my doubts about script font as a proper illustration/representation of your business.

RobA`s intervention kind of tuned-up logo and removes any other possible remarks.

Awesome, thanks for all the tips guys, I never gave the design process anywhere near the thoughts that y'all have so kindly given. Makes total sense across the board.

When I get back on the logo I'll take all these comments into consideration and give another attempt. Thanks again for the C&C's!!

I think the logo of 1 with the writing part of 2 would look best.

I think they'll all suffer a bit when reduced down--#1 especially.

The F&A monogram could use some beefing up. The strokes are just too thin. The ampersand should also be the same weight as the letters (not necessarily same size...but same weight).

I'd try one without the underline as well. Not sure it really adds anything.

Very good points, and thank you for your suggestions. And your comment about the strokes being too thin is so true... I imported this logo into AutoCAD to use on my sheets for clients I work with and it's just simply too thin on the output plots. No matter how long I looked at it I just knew its not completely right, lol.

I have made tweaks and found the one I'm going with. I combined the monogram from #1 with the text of #3. I'll have to post an update. Thanks again inkler, much appreciated.
