Spiro and blur - problems

Postby Janne » Wed Oct 29, 2014 4:23 am

Hi all
I'm quite new to InkScape and I have a problem I can't solve.

I have played around with the pencil tool and the Spiro and would like to make a drop shadow.
Object to path has been applied before the Gaussian blur - what goes wrong? Why isn't it smooth as it is on the square?

I'd appreciate an explanation :)

Hi.

That's weird, not sure what could possibly cause such.
For that matter I don't know what filters(s) you applied, maybe there is a setting you can tweak in the filter editor.
Or perhaps it's just a rendering display setting, in the prefs? Did you try to blur a rectangle, that is rotated a bit?

Still, you can add a shadow manually -by duplicating the path, moving it to bottom (End) and blurring it, lowering it's opacity through the fill and stroke panel.

Thank you very much - problem solved :)

Changing settings in the Preferences to "Better quality" worked out.
Have a great evening :)

( Used duplicate and applied Gaussian blur in "Fill and Stroke" )

I hope this may help others :)
