I am trying to use Inkscape to generate DXF files to import into OpenSCAD (http://www.openscad.org/) to make into 3D objects (e.g. for 3D printing).
When I import an Inkscape-generated .dxf into OpenSCAD and try to extrude it I get an error telling me that there is a spline it can't process.
There are a number of posts all over the place regarding the functionality of the DXF exporter in different versions (, and how at some point it was changed from "R12" to "R13", and how some stuff worked in one but not the other.
There is also a post (http://repraprip.blogspot.ca/2011/05/inkscape-to-openscad-dxf-tutorial.html
Save as DXF without Splines for import to OpenSCAD

Apply 'Extensions > Modify Path > Flatten Bezier' first, then save a copy as DXF.tenbergen wrote:- How would I get Inkscape to export to DXF lines only, no splines?
Try with this recent extension: Inkscape to OpenSCAD converter v2 by dnewman (Thingiverse)tenbergen wrote:- has anyone here had success getting an Inkscape circle --> Dxf --> Openscad?
