Transparent Backround help

Postby tokyo » Wed Jan 26, 2011 7:40 pm

Ok, so I'm trying to create a Logo with a transparent background but am having no luck. I tried saving the logo as a png but when it loads it has a white background. I have tried multiple viewers, for both the website that it appears on and the file itself, but it always has the white background.

Could someone help me out with this please?

Welcome tokyo! Image

The short answer is that you're probably using Save As cairo .png. Instead, you should use File menu > Export Bitmap. The long answer can be found in an article/tutorial that I wrote, here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6616

Thanks,

thats exactly what the problem was. I thought that Export bitmap would give me BMP.

Yeah, it's poorly worded. I hope they change it to "Export Raster" in the next version!
