pixel perfect alignment for web design work
pixel perfect alignment for web design work
I was doing some css rollovers (i'm not a web designer by trade btw) with inkscape. it took many goes to align and realign to pixel perfect positions, as things automagically drifted off pixel perfect positions whenever aligning to other objects or grouping etc. I know this imperfection in inkscape is meant for something but it's a royal pain when you want to export pixel perfect (size and alignment to pixel units) is required. Is there a way to get inkscape to align/size and otherwise work in pixels only, as per unit selected in preferences?
Re: pixel perfect alignment for web design work
Of course, always use pixel and half-pixel grid when designing for the web, and snap everything to those grids: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2854#p13155
just hand over the chocolate and nobody gets hurt

Re: pixel perfect alignment for web design work
ahh..thanks for that...missed that one.
i see a huge advantage in doing "simple" web graphics in svg/inkscape = you can always go back and change stuff. i used to use gimp extensively, but it's a bit of a pain to have to remember every operation (in gimp) and font selection etc to amend a simple glossy button or whatever.
anyway..thanks
