I have seen may discussions on DPI, PPI, etc. but I cannot figure out out to export and image to a particular size, even if I ignore the DPI.
Example: I am often asked to export a logo to be, say 100px wide. I can set the width of the image to 100px in Inkscape but because of the 96dpi weirdness it does not come out to 100px wide after being exported but rather 90px.
Is there no way to make this happen without having to do dimension calculations each time? Also, why does it export as an odd 82 dpi?
Finally, what purpose do the Image size fields serve if the changes you enter are not saved?
Thanks!

Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Also, please post a screenshot of the settings in your export dialog.
