help with trace bitmap and weird outlines

I have just started with inkscape and came across a problem. I wanted to vectorise a logo of sorts and used the "trace bitmap" option. The graphics are suppose to be flat, a single colour without shading and such. When I convert the picture into vector using trace bitmap I get these weird colours around the edges (the beige around the black & blue, the orange around the red). Can anyone help me with the settings for trace bitmap in order to remove these? I just want them to be flat, on colour (so flat red for lion, flat blue for the teeth and so forth.

If anyone kan help me I will be very thankful :)

Hello there,

For the function, set multiple scans and colours, with the number of the colours used on that logo (4?).
Untick any other options like smooth, smooth corners and optimize paths.

That way, hopefully, you will get the right shapes.
Then, you might need to manually adjust the colours to match with the original, with the dropper tool.

Logos are very detail sensitive: chances are big that you cannot use an auto-traced one as an original;
keep in mind that auto-tracing will hardly give you a perfect result.

... also, bare in mind that the quality/resolution of the traced image plays it`s significant role.

These "weird colors" could be avoided by reducing the colors, as Lazur URH suggested, but if possible get the best/biggest image possible. Though it looks like you already have a nice one, but if reducing colors doesn`t produce better result - try with some other image of higher resolution (this goes even for simplest logos). Lower resolution images can`t keep edges that sharp as vector drawings do, so help your self and reduce editing time by finding a high res image for tracing.

A bit of a more detailed explanation
