Alchemy, free open software using vector SVG

Postby hjalle » Mon Jan 11, 2010 11:09 am

An open drawing project
Alchemy is an open drawing project aimed at exploring how we can sketch, draw, and create on computers in new ways. Alchemy isn't software for creating finished artwork, but rather a sketching environment that focuses on the absolute initial stage of the creation process. Experimental in nature, Alchemy lets you brainstorm visually to explore an expanded range of ideas and possibilities in a serendipitous way.

For custom brushes try to make some paths with inkscape, save as pdf inside shapes alchemy folder, open alchemy, select create push shapes and your pdf. If i remember right it must works! (:

Thanks for posting about this. I downloaded and tried it out. It's fun! I haven't learned enough to control it very well....and I think that may be intentional on the part of the program. But if you like abstract art, you have to play with this!

Gosh, I can't remember. I haven't installed it on this computer, or I would look and see. I looked at the website, and read about the program features, but it didn't specify supported formats, at least that I found, quickly skimming. You might peruse the site and find more?

Actually, I do want to have it on this machine, so maybe i'll install it....? I'll let you know if I find the answer.
