Photoshop stamp tool

Postby mackay@otenet.gr » Fri Apr 01, 2016 10:12 pm

Hi, I cannot for the world of me find a similar tool to the photoshop stamp tool in Inkscape. Can anyone tell me how it is done in words of one syllable for a geriatric beginner. I am in the process of moving over from Photoshop to Inkscape. Regards from Corfu

Inskscape doesnt have one. You will need Gimp. Its called the clone tool.

Hi mackay,

the only thing you need to do is to grab the object you want to 'stamp' (i.e. drop copies of it onto the canvas) with your mouse, move it a bit, then hit the spacebar where you want to drop a copy. Repeat for the next copy.

Hope this helps!

The Spray tool can act similarly to the stamping that Moini decribed.
