I seem to have the cutter (a cutok DC330) set up ok...just cant get an image up to cut...
Need help with EPS cutting file!!
Re: Need help with EPS cutting file!!
Gosh, I don't know anything about this, but since no one else has replied, I guess I'll take a stab at it. Although I really don't have much to offer.
1st I would ask if it HAS to be an EPS file? It probably does. So next I would want to make sure you're doing the export properly. After you finish your image, then you Save As EPS, right? In the Inkscape File menu, the only export option it Export Bitmap, which basically saves a PNG version of the image. So I'm curious, how exactly do you export it?
The reason I ask is because I've seen some people refer to opening an image in Inkscape as "importing" it, for example, when really, they are different things with different consequences. So when you say "export", do you mean that you simply are trying to open the newly made EPS file with your cutter software? Or are you doing something else?
The only other thing I can think of is that maybe the SVG to EPS conversion is not fully supported by Inkscape. Although again, I really have no idea. Sorry, I wish I could be more help.

Re: Need help with EPS cutting file!!
Signcut is garbage in my opinion. I have it too haha. The problem is most likely that signcut/eps doesn't support opacity. Make sure all of your colors are full opacity, and it should work fine.
Re: Need help with EPS cutting file!!
what kind of cutter do you have
there has been 2 huge improvements in inkscape
depends on what cutter you have - if its a china mh or pcut there is a plug in that should work still very new
if you have a graphtec or roland or another higher end one TUX plot will work great in linux - we use that all the time

Re: Need help with EPS cutting file!!
You need Ghostscript and GSView (win32). GSView will allow you to open the .eps and save it as a .pdf, which Inkscape can import. File will stay in a vector format, but you may have weird scaling isssues, and clean up work to do.
