Tracing Image Layers
Tracing Image Layers
I would like to trace an image but multiple layers. But when I trace I get 3 layers but they are solid layers. Can you trace an image and get only the colors that are traced on that layer? See attached image for example there is very little gray how do I get it to only have the small pieces as a layer not the whole image again.

Re: Tracing Image Layers
As far as I experienced that is intentional by the autotrace bitmap option.
For that example, after the trace I would go only with that black path.
By breaking it apart, you can get most of the right shaped paths to be filled.
After the breaking apart, I would combine the "BLACK HAWKS" letters together,
and use the dropper tool to add the colour of the original to it.
By uncombining the grey path, you could get the white part on the nose otherwise missing on the black path.
Only the "HARWOOD" part is a bit more complicated.
For better results maybe it would bebetter to trace that part manually.
Could you upload the original raster image?

Re: Tracing Image Layers
Just uncheck "Stack Scans" in the dialog. That will limit each colour to the areas that have that colour.
