- I have setup a grid and enabled "Snap always" on grids in the document settings.
- I have drawn a line consisting of two nodes and the nodes snapped well to the grid.
- Now I have desided to move one of the two nodes to another grid intersection point, but when moving the node, it doesn't snap?
- I have enabled: "Snapping", "Snap nodes, paths, and handles", "Snap other points...", "Snap to grids" and "Snap guides".
Do I need something more to snap moving nodes to other objects/elements?

Snapping when moving a node
Re: Snapping when moving a node
Hi.
Make sure you have the Snap to Cusp nodes turned on.
Without this the end nodes of a line will not snap when repositioning the nodes!
What version are you using? Which OS?
Snapping to the grid works as a charm using both Inkscape 0.91 r13725 and 0.48 on win8.1.
Same with both versions on linux.
Have a look at snapping in The manual.

Re: Snapping when moving a node
Well, it if snaps to one grid intersection, it will snap to them all. So there must be some misunderstanding somewhere. Either the first one snapped to something besides the grid, and you aren't aware of it (because it looks like it's snapping to the grid, but it could be snapping to something hidden...even another grid that's hidden); or what you thought was the grid, isn't the grid.
The grid that's controlled by the settings you describe should be blue (unless you changed it). However, Inkscape is capable of drawing grids, which are permanent parts of the drawing (while the blue grid is just used as a guide, and doesn't show up in your finished drawing). They should be black, unless you changed it.
If that doesn't give you enough info to find the problem, you could attach your SVG file, and we can probably figure it out.
Snapping is a more complex feature than it may appear to be, and it takes some study to learn about it. In fact, some people seem to find it quite frustrating, as I did, at first. But once I understood more, it's great tool!
Oops, Ragnar sneaked right in while I was typing

Hi Ragnar.
That was just what I needed. I don't know why, but I guess your link can tell me

Thanks a lot!
