Greetings all,
I just started using Inkscape today and it's a great program from what I've seen so far. One issue I've run into, however, is I've masked an image but the image has so much data that it's slowing down the program. Is there a way to delete the masked, unused part of the image? I've tried searching for a solution but I might not be phrasing it right or something.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Christine
Masked image affects program speed
Re: Masked image affects program speed
Welcome aboard!
Inkscape cannot edit raster images that way.
You can auto-trace the image in some cases and edit the vector copy,
but most likely you will need to apply a layer mask on your image in a raster image editor program like gimp,
and clip the image's boundaries to the actual size.
To make it a bit easier you can export a raster image from inkscape that you can use as a layer mask.
Good luck!
