Copy-paste between documents makes everything grey

Copy-paste between documents makes everything grey

So, I have a black element in document 1 and I'm pasting it to document 2 using copy-paste.
The element became grey- I thought I'd change fill&stroke to fix it but it's 000000ff already and the element is grey.

any ideas? :-/

Yeah, fixed- the pasted thingie was on another layer.
