Hi all,
I joined the forums because I wanted to offer a solution to getting Wacom tablets (possibly all tablets, but I only own a Wacom Bamboo Pen tablet) to work properly with Inkscape. In my experience with Inkscape and a tablet, you can get it to work somewhat, but minus certain functionality such as being able to double-click on guides and such. I found a solution, although it it likely a temporary one because you have to do it every time you start up Inkscape. Here is what I do to get my tablet working properly in Inkscape:
1. Unplug your tablet and plug in your mouse. The mouse should be your only input device aside from the keyboard that is plugged in.
2. Start up Inkscape.
3. Once Inkscape has loaded completely, unplug mouse.
4. Plug in tablet (do not plug in tablet and then unplug mouse - unplug the mouse first).
And you are done. As you can see, this isn't a permanent solution by any means and this problem will eventually have to be resolved in a new update or something like that. However, if you love Inkscape and love tablets, this may be something you will be willing to do for a little while.
Hope this helps you all,
-Daniel

Re: How To Get Your Wacom Tablets Working
Thanks for the tip. I have a Wacom Graphire (an old model) on a laptop with Win7. I don't have a mouse, so I was worried this solution wouldn't work for me. I unplugged the tablet, started the Inkscape program, plugged the Wacom back in, and YAY! It worked!
Thanks!
Thanks!
