Hi, not been using inkscape long and i only really use it for personal use, nothing serious.
Not sure if im being completely stupid or what buttt, i have an image which is a png
i want to cut it out with signcut to make a sticker, however, i know i have to convert it
to svg or whatever so i can open it on sign cut etc.
but when i trace to bitmap, the text that is on my image is no longer sharp or normal
it goes all weird and soft.
so this is a small part of the image before tracing
and this is after..
not sure if you can tell but the writing isnt quite write. can i do anything about this or not
Text no longer sharp or normal after tracing to bitmap
Re: Text no longer sharp or normal after tracing to bitmap
The bottom picture, as a vector graphic, is much sharper than the top one...
But I think you mean that the shapes seem to change.
You can play with the threshold and cleanup settings (first and second tab) to try if you can still make it better.
What would help more, though, would be a larger version of the original png file, with a better resolution.

... or look out for Impact font and add those few words on your own.
Draw a curve, put text on the path and - voila! ,)

I've recently learned that at least one digital cutter software includes its own trace engine - think it was called Silhouette or Cameo? Not sure if any others do, but worth finding out if your does.
