Cork Texture

Postby JumpingMammoth » Fri Feb 21, 2014 12:48 am

Hey everyone,

I wanted to make a cork texture with this tutorial. But, it's for Illustrator. Normally this isn't a problem, but thi time it is. That is because there ar many functions that I didn't find in Inkscape. Does somebdoy know how I can make a cork texture in Inkscape

Thanks in advance!

PS: I am Dutch and 13 years old, so sorry for the bad English

Go for the Filters and/or Extensions and experiment. Noise might be the solution but.... you should try. It is managable, just give it a try.

p.s.
Check Google images for "Inkscape filters"
:tool_zoom: <<< click! - but, those with a cheaper tickets should go this way >>> :!:

Sorry, but I don't see the "Noise"-effect :( Under which submenu is it?

My bad, sorry - Filters / Image effects / Film grain is what I had on my mind.

I presume you`re not that skilled with filters in Inkscape so try this - make a square / duplicate it and change color / scale it up for ~200% / apply Film grain filter / scale the square down, to fit the original one. You`ll notice that filter follows scaling and could provide different effects this way. You could also try the same with the square scaled down first and then scaled up.

Still, you should try to find the filter which suits you the best and then - brace yourself - and dive into the Realm of the Filter Editor!
Have fun!

p.s.
Similar effect in another app is called Noise.
