Postby ivan louette » Sun Nov 02, 2008 10:30 am

30 presets adapted for landscapes, derived from the previous painting effects.

As many effects that you have created it is almost like you need your own subject area in the forum :)

These filter effects are terriific. I have a folder with just your filters alone in them. Keep up the great work.

Many Thanks ! Precisely this week end I am working to reorganize them by subjects, creating png thumnails and add some new variations before putting them on their own page in OpenClipart. In fact I didn't realize the work that was  !

kindly,
ivan

I wonder if we should include them into Inkscape's bundle as make available from menu.

Not at the moment, but you can apply any effect, then pressing Ctrl + G and then apply a second one ! The advantage is that you remain able to edit the two effects separately in the Object/Filter Effects dialog window.

You most likely misunderstood me :) What I'm talking about is releasing 0.47 with your filter effects.

Many thanks ! Yes I misunderstood you (sorry for my bad English). However somebody (perhaps you?) already asked me if I accepted they were included in 0.47 release and I said yes. And as there are now a lot of them on OpenClipart I also accept that you select the ones you find the most useful to include them to the menu list. Personnally I could suggest some of them I find interesting, but only if you ask me for that.

On the other hand, at some time I asked me if that could not be useful for the user to be able of customizing the menu list of filter effects directly available in Inkscape. But finally I found that using "Ctrl+G" before applying every individual filter was a very convenient solution and I forgot to suggest the menu customisation. In fact, using groups together with filters is a smart solution because it allows to select the groups in the XML editor and remove, change or modify their filters separately or even change their order.

Thanks again and a very happy new year !

ivan
