I went to Filter > Texture > Inkblot to give a blurred effect to a line.
That works fine, however when I convert it pdf the line is solid.
Also, I changed the mode to "screen" but in the pdf the line is solid.
Any thoughts on how to keep the filter effect when converting to pdf?
thanks

Re: Saving filters to pdf
You have to click on the rasterize filters options and give a decent resolution to it in the save as pdf panel.
Re: Saving filters to pdf
I did...I checked rasterize filter effects at 184. Is that number wrong?
thank you for the help

Re: Saving filters to pdf
I just tried again at 370 and got a better result. what should the number be at?
Re: Saving filters to pdf
300 dpi for A4 text and 600 dpi for photography are commonly used resolutions, however the result depends on the printing used too.
A regular paper may not be capable for 600 dpi.

Dear Lazur URH,
thank you for your thoughts.
I got inconsistent results...at one point I saved to file at 450 and it was fine. I did it again later and it wasn't.
fortunately I was just experimenting so I let it go, however in the future this question may come up again.

Re: Saving filters to pdf
Hello Ait,
keep in mind the original size of your image as well the resolution.
By opening the document's properties tab (Shift+Ctrl+D) you can set up the basic units in mm or inches.
Maybe the part was too small that didn't get exported well at 450 dpi?
Good luck!
