Converting raster to vector - looking for the basics

Postby TheKevinShow » Wed Jun 25, 2014 1:48 pm

That is my Nike hockey jersey template. I'm trying to make the move from raster editing to vector editing and one thing I really want to do is keep using my own template. It fits the project I'm working on. I feel like the design is simple enough to the point where given enough pointers, I can take it and make it into a vector template.

The question is, once I've traced it with the bezier curves, where do I go from there? I keep trying to read guides on how to do stuff like this but I keep getting lost. Can someone walk me through this process? I need baby steps.

Hi.

The usual advice to beginners in Inkscape is - start learning the basics!
A good place to start is with the tutorials in 'The manual'; http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/QuickStart.html
Once you master the tutorials making your designs will seems like second nature!

Looks like your design is off to a good start!

Good Luck
