Inkscape with Gravostyle

Postby mrtimmydee » Fri Apr 27, 2012 2:33 pm

Hi, first time here,
I'm trying to save my vectors as plt, or (preferably filled in) HPGL for engraving use with my gravostyle program + engraver. [for making name badges, etc.,]
plt doesn't seem to work at all - it tries to save, and then says "unrecognised extension", and HPGL gives me this:

File "C:\Program Files\Inkscape\share\extensions\hpgl_output.py", line 47
print ''.join(self.hpgl)
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax

The originals are saved as SVG, and I've made sure all things are converted to paths before saving as.
Does anyone have ideas on how to solve these issues?

Welcome to the forum!

There's some info about HPGL/PLT here: http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL ... port-Other. Or you might find this might work viewtopic.php?f=31&t=4987. And also you could look through this subforum. I see some other related topics.

Hi,
in order to use some vector that you create with inkscape in gravostyle, you must save your files as EPS or DXF ! Then in gravostyle click on import and choose the file you want engraving! For me that's work fine with gravostyle and a m40 or a m20
Good luck!
