I have created a couple of words overlapped the letters and done Path > Union to weld them together, now I want to put them on a path, but it isn't working.

I have tried doing Text on a Path and then Path > Union but that doesn't work either, am I doing something wrong or won't Inkscape do this.

Problem solved I should have been doing Generate from Path after doing the Path > Union.
