I am trying to get started on Inkscape, for the most simple of tasks...but am running into some probably general configuration
errors. It seems that different PC's/installations I play with have different behaviors starting up.
* I have one PC that I startup Inkscape and try to draw a rectangle, and see absolutely nothing.
* I have another that I get a blue rectangle.
I mess with the fill and stoke on the first one and can make things appear, but was wondering how do I set it up
so I can see it all the time at startup?
Back to rectangles, On one pc I get the circle for making the rounded corners. On a second pc, I can't seem to get that circle.
How do I enable the rounder corner handle?
I guess thats enough for now..Thanks,
Mike

Re: General getting started questions...
What Operating System w/Versions are you running on each PC?
What release of Inkscape are you running on each PC?

Re: General getting started questions...
Home is 0.48. Have to check the version at work when I get there.
Home is where I was having the issue of no corner rounding selector.
Funny thing though, I came home for lunch and I see it now...
I also see the rectangle and color when I make it..
There must be something I messed up when I started it before...
Thank you,
-Mike

Re: General getting started questions...
In your preferences find the rectangle (under shapes). you can assign it to use its own style or last used style. To set its own style, fill and stroke any object just the way you want it and in prefs click the set from selected button (bar?)
Your mind is what you think it is.
