Filling with a scanned fabric swatch

Postby appareltek » Tue Sep 30, 2014 2:27 am

Hi,

I am new to this forum, but have used Inkscape for a few years. BTW - a huge 'Thank you' to the developers of Inkscape!!

My issue - I am a clothing designer and from time to time I need to create sketches of my work. In order to make them authentic looking I like to scan the actual fabric swatch and use that as fill in my sketches. I have no problem creating a pattern from the object I scanned. The problem occurs when I try to fill the sketch. There are white lines around each of the tiled patterns. How can I eliminate these so that it is one, smooth overall pattern? Maybe there is a way to make the tiles overlap?

Thanks for your help!

Hi.

Head over to the pre release of 0.91.

Rendering bug fixes. Most of the rendering glitches in our bug tracker are no longer present in Inkscape 0.91. The following things now render correctly:
Pattern fills (no more gaps between tiles, regardless of transformation)

Good luck!
