Overlapping objects & intersections

Postby olderandcolder » Thu May 15, 2014 8:48 pm

Hi there,

I was wondering if someone could help me with overlapping objects. I would like to know how to create the colourful art of this image:

Specifically is there anyway of doing this without having to duplicate and take the intersection of each of the objects two at a time?

I was hoping you could arrange some random objects and separate each area of overlap in one swoop...

Any ideas?

Hello

I'm glad that you find the solution by yourself.

I see 2 ways of getting the effect taht you want:

1.- Changing the opacity of the shapes, and ovelaping them. After this, clip the surface (the "hair"in your illustration).

2.- The other is using filters

I haven't done nothing similar before

Also maybe check out using the tweak-tool on objects, to randomize size, color, rotation. Super handy.

Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/
