Hello,
When I export my image (file/export bitmap/png) the transparent background isn't fully transparent. I searched the internet and found that (for some reason) the default inkscape document properties for background/border colour was a semi-transparency. So I set the RGBA to be FFFFFF00. However, I'm still not getting transparent output on my pngs. What am I doing wrong? attached are some samples.
thanks for any help.
btw, I know the image is a bit poor and the dark dark book shadow doesn't cover the circle properly, but I'm not an artist nor know how to fix this in Inkscape

I'd check the fill/stroke opacities on your objects... looks like the white rectangle is set to 40.7%.
As for fixing/adjusting elements, I'd try selecting & ungrouping the book object and tweak the path of the shadow.

Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

Hello,
There is no rectangle.
If I export things manually I get bizarre results:
circle is ok:
end of book is not, the first third of the transparency is semi-transparent, the rest is ok.
When I add the other elements it gets gradually worse.

Also, export with 'selection' is not working. When I select a single item to export I get random stuff from my picture added to it, i.e. the stuff below my selection.
Similarly, here is an example of exporting the white section of the book. The dark grey is semi-transparency, the black is full transparency, yet I have no background to this, it is simply a book in the shape of the white object.

Re: cannot export as transparent png
Now I have no idea what you are after.
The objects on the 480/800 px page area are grouped together, so there won't be any problems selecting it to be the export area.
The logo part is intentionally grouped and has a clipping mask too.
Do you want to export each part separately and put it together in a raster program, with each objects on a new layer? Why?
If not, draw a rectangle where you want the export area to be, make its fill transparent and export it.
Edit: It's weird, I have no idea why your exporting doesn't work right. I can export it right, only without the text -not having the Dosis font.

Re: cannot export as transparent png
I do know
I guess it's either a bug or somebody can tell me why it's happening.
Yes, I do have a white rectangle, it's at the bottom and it covers the whole page, it's so I can export the image without the logo as a backdrop image.
The problem is when I select just the logo then select export and select 'selection' it includes the white rectangle or anything else below my selection. Why? isn't 'selection' supposed to be just the selected items?
Thanks.

Re: cannot export as transparent png
When exporting, try the "hide all except selected" checkbox.
The artwork needs some cleanups, but the elements can be exported with transparency, as shown.

Re: cannot export as transparent png
Ah, thanks. I've been at this most of the day and it was all down to a stupid check box and a background that wasn't fully transparent by default
I think I've cleaned it up a little. Thanks for everyone's help.
