f-0-0 font not found in illustrator

Postby spadge_2356 » Tue Nov 13, 2012 8:49 pm

Hi All,

I'm new to this forum, and I couldn't find the topic I was searching for so I thought I'd ask the question.

I am making some artwork for a job in work and I find inkscape does a really good job! However come across a small irritation which is slowing me down a little. I have finished my artwork and want to give it to another artist at work, but when they open it in Illustrator there is an error message returned which reads:

Code: Select all

error font not found: f-0-0

The font is installed on both machines so there doesn't seem to be a problem there. The file opens and everything is fine (pictures, paths etc) but illustrator replaces the font in question with Arial instead. Can anyone please help me shed light on this annoying issue?

Overall though loving Inkscape, fab program!

Kind Regards,

Welcome SPADGE_2356!

Unless I'm not understanding the problem correctly, it seems like more of a problem with Illustrator. When they open Illustrator, is the font listed and available for use? If so, would it be too hard to just change the font?

I guess you're thinking that Inkscape is perhaps altering the font so that Illustrator doesn't recognize it?

If the other people don't need to edit the text, you could convert text to path, before sending to Illustrator. Then it would show up like you want. But it would no longer be editable as text.

Sorry I don't have any answers. Maybe someone else will?
