Vector graphic to PDF

Postby TeddyT » Tue Sep 01, 2009 5:03 am

Hi,

I designed a nice Logo with Inkscape for my Webpage.
No I want to place this logo even on a T-Shirt.
My Shirt dealer said that he need the logo within a PDF file and now I have a problem.

When I print the logo into the PDF directly with Inkscape, the quailty of the PDF and with it related graphic is really poor.

How can I print the logo to the PDF without any quality loss ?

What kind of a drawing is it? Do you have blurs for example (filters)? If features are unsupported in pdf Inkscape rasterizes the objects, there is an option in Inkscape preferences where you set the desired quality of the bitmaps, but I'm not sure if it's there in version 0.46.

Exporting to pdf has been greatly improved since 0.46, if you can I'd recommend using the 0.47pre version.

If you need all objects to be vector in the pdf you might need to simplify your logo to fix parts that get rasterized when converting to pdf.
