Hi:
I will appreciate somebody tell me how to switch off the formation of the small rectangles that appears when doing a pen stroke.
Thanks.

Re: pen stroke without rectangles
Your stroke style is probably set to dashes. in your fill and stroke dialog (ctrl-shift-f) under the stroke style tab, open the drop down menu that has dashes chosen and change to the first item in the list, undashed stroke (smooth line).
Your mind is what you think it is.
Re: pen stroke without rectangles
Hi Druban:
I am sorry, I made a mistake, instead pen stroke is a pencil stroke. The small rectangles appear at the ends of the stroke.
I am including a file with a pencil stroke showing these rectangles.
I think is not a matter of dashes.
Thanks.

Draw another stroke and the endpoints will shift to that one. They are there to help you continue the line if you want to do so. Hover over one poit and read what it says at the bottom of the window for more tips.

Re: pen stroke without rectangles
Hi Druban:
Now I see the purpose of these rectangles, they signal that the continuation of the last stroke is still possible.
I was aware that the rectangles move to next stroke and that is fine, but they cause me some kind of interference when I am writing text.
That is to say, in case of writing of text fast (specially mathematical formulas) the rectangles introduce some confusion for the fast comprehension of the wrote signs. That is the reason why I would like to avoid the presence of such rectangles when I am writing text.
Is that possible?
Thank you very much.

Whenever you either deselect the newly drawn lines, or switch to any tool except for Pen or Pencil, those will no longer be visible. Esc key is a quick way to deselect
