I created an image in Inkscape, which I saved as a .jpg. However, when I go to open in the file, in an attempt to edit it I get a box requiring embeding or linking? And then when I select "ok" I get an error message saying the file can't be opened. Please advise. Thanks in advance!

I`ll be glad to help you but could you please tell me first - how did you managed to save the file created in Inkscape as .jpg?
I`m trying to do that for ages and I would appreciate your help on this one. Pretty please?! With cherry on top?! ,)

If the svg file somehow got the .jpg extension, it will fail to open after the link/embed dialogue.

I would try changing the extension from .jpg to .svg and see if it will open.
