svg aspect ratio problem

svg aspect ratio problem

Hi,

I created an svg by pasting some images into Inkscape.
When I open the same svg in latest version Chrome, the aspect ratio of the images is very different than that seen in Inkscape.

What may be the reason, and what are good ways of addressing svg scaling, when designing in Inkscape for browsers.

Hi.

Browsers may render svg-s differently.
Some cases explorer can show a better image, some may prefer to use opera.
Did you check if it's the svg, or the browser's rendering issue?

Not sure the distinction between svg and "browser rendering issue" means anything. Chrome handles SVG perfectly well. It's probably something in the way Inkscape uses svg. Inkscape outputs should work on Chrome just as much as in explorer. Thanks anyway.

Can you reproduce and example of the problem and show it here?

Maybe the issue is related to this:

That can produce differences between inkscape and browser rendering certainly.
To solve that you may edit the svg in a notepad to remove the unwanted tags.
