I am using 0.48 with the new show transformation handles button clicked. When I select nodes the handles I usually get ar for scaling. Every once in a while I get the rotate/skew handles. How do I determine which I get or switch between them? They are enormously useful!

Any help with this will be surely appreciated.

Just click on the selection again to change from scale to rotate mode

Note that you have to click on one of the nodes in the selection -- clicking on a path segment connecting selected nodes or one of the nodes handles does not toggle between scale and rotation mode.

Thanks, that's got it. It's just like the selector tool then.

As an FYI, The Selector Tool has three click sequences:
>Single Left Click an object to "select' it and enable the SCALE handles
>*Double (paused) Left Click SHOULD bring up the ROTATION/SKEW handles for an object
>Double (quickly) Left Click will SWITCH tools from the Selector to Objects Creation Tool (Star, Square, Ellipse, Text, etc) OR the Node Tool.

*For some users the Paused Double Click does NOT work, in this case you can use the Shortcut Keys Shift+S to enable the ROTATION/SKEW Handles.
