node/mouse trouble???

Postby kjw » Tue Dec 29, 2009 1:46 am

I am trying to select all of the nodes on 6 independent, slightly curved lines. Each line has only 2 nodes - a start node and an end node . With the node tool active, I've tried using the node tool to rubberband select and nothing happens - I don't even get a bounding box. If I use the node tool to individually select each line while holding down the shift key, I get individual bounding boxes on all of the lines but no nodes are showing and the bottom of the screen says: 0 out of 2 nodes selected. Click, Shift+click, or drag around nodes to select.

I tried rolling the mouse over the lines but it just scrolls the screen. Grouping them didn't make any difference, and there is only one layer. Any Ideas?

You need to combine the paths into a single path first (select them all, then Ctrl+K). If for some reason you later need them as separate paths, you can break them apart again (Shift+Ctrl+K).

You're a genius! I thought combining paths could only be used on paths that touched.
