make x number of duplicates or clones, all at once?

Postby brynn » Tue Nov 16, 2010 9:46 pm

Hi Friends,
Is it possible by any means, to create say 20 duplicates of one object, all at once? Or clones would be ok too. I've thought about using tiled clones dialog. But I wonder if there's another way? Maybe via xml editor???

Thanks for your help :D

I use exactly the tiled clones dialog to create duplicates and it works very well. Never bothered with the xml dialog.

Symmetry setting (for 32 clones in my case):
P1-Simple translation
1row x 32columns

On thing i found missing is some kind of increment naming pattern for the clones based on the object property of the original.
Would be nice to have for web export ( but thats another story:-)

Thanks WhiteBelt!
I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but probably tonight I will.
