Hi everyone,
I'm using inkscape 0.91 x64 on windows 7. I've installed ICC profiles from adobe. when I add them to the document then I select an abject go to fill and stroke, then choose CMS, I can choose the color profile I want, the colors channels appear. But when I choose one of them to modify the CMS option goes back to <none>. what is the solution of this problem please. I need it so I can import the svg file into scribus then create a CMYK PDF.
this is a video of my problem.

What version of inkscape doesn't have this problem. I has to be a 0.48 version so it can export icc values to scribus.

Re: ICC profiles aren't working
I downloaded some ICC profiles from ubuntu repository and they work. that's awesome.
tow last question:
1. How does Ubuntu icc profiles differ form adobe's. I mean what will be the difference of a cmyk pdf using adobe's color profiles and another one using ubuntu's.
2. what are they the best substitions to fOGRA27, 29 and 39

Hello,
In some part of the discussion of the bug some one sayas that changing the name of the icc profiles into the file, with an hexadecimal editor, somehow solved the problem

If you have problems:
1.- Post a sample (or samples) of your file please.

Re: ICC profiles aren't working
Yes, I've read that one. Actually I'm still experimenting. right now I can use some icc color profiles in inkscape. and when I import them in scribus the colors change a little bit. I go to File => Document Setup => Color Management => and change the printing profiles to the same one I used in inkscape. and i change the rendering intents to Saturation. Scribus then shows the same colors I used in inkscape. But when I export them to PDF. they still change. and it looks that the colors are even different depending on pdf viewer you use. I've read in somewhere that Evince is the best renderer. It shows the colors closer to the original than Adobe Reader.

I've downloaded a hex editor. opened the icc profile, but I can't understand anything. only weird characters. there is nothing that looks like the profile name.

Re: ICC profiles aren't working
Solved
1. Download a free hex editor: I used this one http://mh-nexus.de/en/downloads.php?product=HxD
2. Download ICC profiles :http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=4077&fileID=3791
3. choose a profile and open it in the hex editor
4. after a couple of lines you will see the profile name, only let the normal letters and numbers, any special character or white space should be changed into _ or X. for example : change "Uncoated FOGRA29 (ISO_12647_2_2004) " into "Uncoated_FOGRA29_XISO_12647_2_2004X" and note that I didn't want to put two _ in a row, so I used the X character.
5. change the file name: just add any letter after the original name : like "UncoatedFOGRA29" to "UncoatedFOGRA29 x"
6. Install the profile.
7. Use it in inkscape.

Re: ICC profiles aren't working
Kudos for sticking with it!
I can confirm the hex-edit working so far here. Thanks!
(Two underscores in a row seem fine, btw.)

Re: ICC profiles aren't working
Hi everybody!
When I generate a PDF file (printing with Adobe PDF or with save as) the CMYK colors get messy: where supossed to be C:100, M:0, Y:0, K:0, it appears another values (ex. C:70, M:15, Y:2, K:0). Same thing with another colors. Had the same results using Ubuntu 14.04. Why? What am I doing wrong?
Sorry for my bad english. Spanish is my native language.
Thanks!
Dn
