2 minor alterations?

Postby catch22 » Sun Dec 22, 2013 6:15 am

I know it's 'not done' to ask for help without researching first, but I have no intention or need of learning much about graphic programs since I rarely use them, so I'm hoping for some understanding on that :|

I have this file SVG Image where all I want is 2 simple things; for you guys probably very easy - for me it could take days of research -:

1- have a circle drawn around every E
2- double every image horizontally and vertically, so they come out as 8 blocks horizontal and 16 vertical

An explanation on how-to for a novice would be very, very much appreciated!

This will look strange online in this reply, but open the file in Inkscape, it will be more clear...

This task is not much different than any other desktop operation: edit, copy (or "clone") and paste.

In Inkscape, the file now has circles added to a group of objects.

The group can be "cloned" and pasted in alignment with a grid that has been added to the document. View the grid with the # key.

Click on the group to select, find the Clone button on the toolbar and click it once, drag clone to next cell in the grid. Repeat.

When finished cloning all needed, select all objects ( CTRL+A ) and set document size to contents in the properties panel.

Not a free-lunch exactly, but easy from here and the best way to explain to a novice a little bit of vector graphics.

Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

A free lunch would've been over the top; so thanks for letting me sit at the table :)
I'll try your guidelines as soon as I get home - very much obliged!
