I draw an object to a required size, but afterwards decide the border is not thick enough, so I increase its thickness. ( ubergeek Ged)

But the border changes the object dimensions slightly. Not a big problem to fix, but annoying if not noticed till later. Is there an option somewhere, that places borders on the inside of an object instead of adding to the external dimensions? If not, could the Inkscape developers consider including it as a 'preference' option?

In the preferences you can set geometric bounding box (Shift+Ctrl+P, Tools).
