Whitespace

Postby Gromax » Fri Dec 17, 2010 11:46 pm

Problem: Here is the Inkskape SVG picture

Code: Select all

---------------------

            *
         *     *
            *

          TEXT

---------------------

The "picture" has on top of it say four stars (which each is an object), and below some text (which is another object). Regretfully, on all four sides is some "whitespace" (especially on the bottom, because apparently I cannot do some real Ascii art her ;)). How do I get rid of it?

I tried "Select all"", followed by "Document properties" => "Fit page to selection", which does not work, because apparently it also considers the whitespace as part of the document.

Your assistance is kindly appreciated. Regards, G.

It should work this way. Maybe you have some invisible objects of that size. When you select all where is the overall bounding box shown? Can you make a screenshot?

Also try switching to Outline View mode to see if there are more objects present than you think.
