Crescent Moon
Hi, I'm trying to create a crescent moon on inkscape. I'm having trouble to make it look good. I tried, benzier curves but it didn't bring any curve shape enough as a crescent. Then I tried with 2 circles: one yellow, one black. I like how I did it so far, but it didn't have that feeling of a moon. Then I started thinking about a lunar eclipse. But the problem is that I don't know how to add that glow effect on the moon. Can anyone help? Sorry for being a noob. >.<

Once you have your crescent shape, duplicate it then make it less opaque and add a blur.
In regards to making the crescent shape, read up on Path Operations - http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL ... ining.html

Start with a circle for the moon. Duplicate it, then resize the copy horizontally, so you've got a ellipse the same height as, but narrower than, the original. This ellipse is mathematically accurate for combining with/subtracting from the original in order to get a correct representation of a waxing or waning moon.
Representations of crescent moons are often mathematically incorrect, which doesn't mean they aren't "artistically" valid.

Thanks microUgly, I'll try that blur effect. And thanks Slow Dog for the tips on creating a perfect crescent moon. Now my shape looks better and it has that glow effect. This is going to be one hell of a brochure.
