Hello,
I tried to join two nodes as described in different posts and tutorials.
I tried with combining both objects and without.
But when I select the nodes, press the join-Button in the toolbar, nothing happens.
(I'm using inkscape 0.48 on kubuntu)

Isn't this possible at all?
Thanks and regards
Adriana
Join two nodes
Re: Join two nodes
Actually - No! That very same button works just on nodes which are on the same path.
There`s another one "Join..." button which works on end nodes / meaning: connects nodes at the ends of the open paths.
I can`t be sure, from your example, what exactly you`ve tried to create but Combine might help (Ctrl+K).

Re: Join two nodes
Maybe you are trying to draw something alike?

Re: Join two nodes
Thank you very much- these I have read before, but now I understood, why it isn't possible.
Actually, in the end I want to combine the two forms to a single one, filling the space between them. So my approach was to join the single nodes.
But probably I have to first break apart the form and then join with a new segment.

Or ist there a faster way to do this?

Re: Join two nodes
Un-connect the selected segments with no breaking apart of the path, then connect the end nodes of the two sub-paths to be one closed path with the node editor tool, and it will be what you are after.
