unable to rasterize svg with mask

This svg loads in fine in a browser (ffox, chrome, http://jsfiddle.net/9tT6T/), but inkscape and imagemagick just convert this as a white rectangle when exported as a png. How do I rasterize this svg to a png?

I can't get it to work in Chrome (dev), so it's not clear if the goal is to punch-out the text from the rectangle, or to fill the text with rectangle content.

All it produces is a white rectangle.
You can release the current masking in inkscape and give right fill attributes/correct masking.
Then you can export it to a png.

The mask as is works ok with browsers like Firefox and Chromium (but isn't rendered visibly (i.e. white on white) unless one puts a differently colored rectangle at the bottom). To have the mask work in Inkscape too, wrap the two elements of the mask (rect, group) in another group (likely same underlying issue as tracked here).
