Hi First of all i'd like to say I really enjoy Inkscape!
Now, I want to post a bug but i don't understand how to do it. I'm not very good in the technical aspect of this. This is the bug:
First make a shape
then click on the line and filling colors in the top right of the screen
if you've done that you get a screen with youre preferences. Then click on the colors and inktscape crashes.
I hope it's clear this way

Crashes when selecting color in preferences
Re: Where to report bugs and software issues
Hi brum,
Welcome to InkscapeForum.com!
Probably some more information will be needed before our many wise and talented members can determine whether it's a bug or not.
First, just to be clear (which is very important if a bug is to be reported), by " line and filling colors" I'm guessing you mean the Fill and Stroke dialog. Here's a screen shot of it:
(note that mine looks a little different because I've altered my display properties, but the content is the same)

Is that what you mean by
? The reason I want to be clear about that, is because there are other dialogs that are called Preferences, which are used to set up the more global options for using Inkscape (rather than options for specific images). And they're all generally in the top, right of the Inkscape window
Ok, can you tell us exactly what you click on next that causes Inkscape to crash?
And finally, we need to know what version of Inkscape you're using, as well as your operating system and version.
Thanks

Known bug in Inkscape 0.46, fixed for Inkscape 0.47.
Don't use the preferences dialog to change the fill&stroke attributes of your new or currently selected object, use the 'Object > Fill and Stroke…' dialog for this or (shift) click on one of the colors in the color palette right below the canvas.
