background colour shows 1/256:th discrepancy

I present to you, exhibit A:

You should be able to see a rough checkerboard effect in the image above. Note that the source SVG (also attached) has its background colour set to 808080FF -- the same as the two solid squares.

At first I thought I was going crazy but after cross-checking with paint.net and the colour picker, I decided that I had really just calibrated my monitor that good ;)
Should I add it to the bug tracker or is it simple enough to deal with immediately?

Reproduced with Inkscape 0.46, 0.47 and 0.48+devel r9669 on OS X 10.5.8 - but only for on-canvas rendering, bitmap export does not show this shift of 1:

bg values set to rgb(0, 0, 0) renders as rgb(0, 0, 0) (black)
bg values set to rgb(1, 1, 1 ) renders as rgb(0, 0, 0)
bg values set to rgb(128, 128, 128) renders as rgb(127, 127, 127) (your example)
bg values set to rgb(255, 255, 255) renders as rgb(254, 254, 254) (not quite white)

I'd say file a report (could not find one in the bug tracker).

Off topic:
I'm sorry I can't comment on your issue. But how did you get your snap control bar along the right side? I would love to be able to put both control bars over there!

It's a new feature in 0.48, you'll soon be able to use it :)
