text is always bold

Postby miyashin » Thu Jun 23, 2011 3:49 am

Hi,

I'm using Inkscape 0.48 on Windoes7. I'm trying to write text using :tool_text:. I used to be able to write the left one in the attached file, but from some point I can only write the right one. Both of them 'are supposed to be' Times New Roman 12pt. This is not just bold, because the bold of the left one doesn't look like the right one and the right one will be even thicker if I use bold. I've been trying to find the solution online for weeks, but I couldn't find it... I would appreciate your help.

Regards,

Shin

There's nothing wrong with your text (it's not bold), you just styled it differently.

Every object in Inkscape can have a fill and a stroke. The left object only has a black fill with no stroke, while the right one has a black stroke and possibly a fill.

To get what you want remove the stroke and set fill to black. You can remove stroke on the Stroke tab in the Fill and Stroke dialogue (the x button), or right-click on the stroke box in the bottom left corner and choose Remove stroke.

Thank you so much! Now I can write normal text!! I haven't thought about the fill and stroke for text...
