Braille Conversion not Working?

Postby flamingolady » Sat Oct 02, 2010 1:42 pm

I'm using V.47 on Windows 7. I cannot get the Convert to Braille extension function to work. It brings back tiny rectangles in place of the braille text. Is this function working properly? or Maybe I'm doing something wrong, I'm typing the text, highlighting it and applying the extension, it acts like it is working but only returns rectangles.
thx

You need to have a font installed and used for the text that contains the Unicode braille glyphs - like for example DejaVu Sans. The problem is that missing glyph substitution (if a glyph is not in the current font, it is taken from another font that has it) does not happen in Inkscape on Windows, for whatever reason. The extension itself works flawlessly.

Suv
I downloaded the font DejaVu Sans (light) and tried it with that font (tried it a few times to be sure). It still only brings back rectangles. I did refer to the bug you pointed me too, seems like this font should work, so not sure what the issue is now.
